IV THERAPY

Our ability to bypass an unhealthy aka "leaky" gut or to provide a high dose of antioxidants and nutrients directly to the cells is extremely valuable. Individuals who have a hard time swallowing pills every day, especially those who are pregnant and have too much nausea to do so, or who are struggling with health conditions that have depleted their systems, can highly benefit from IV therapy. If you haven't been eating a healthy diet and have struggled with feeling run down or frequently getting ill, consult with us to see if IV therapy is right for you.

Benefits of intravenous nutrient therapy include:

  1. Injectables are not affected by stomach acids, or intestinal absorption problems, and thus your body is able to absorb and utilize as much nutrients as it requires.

  2. High therapeutic doses of nutrients and antioxidants have more of an impact on your health than can be acquired with consumption of food.

  3. Improved Energy, better sleep quality, improved cell function.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR IV APPOINTMENT

  1. Try to eat prior, do not try to fast on purpose for the treatment.

  2. Drink plenty of water.

    • Dehydration causes the most post IV symptoms and concerns.  IV therapy can be dehydrating, so one must hydrate before and after intravenous infusions containing nutrients.

      • Symptoms such as headache, dizziness, dry mouth, joint stiffness and others often are due to a need for more water. Drink water before, during and especially after your IV.

  3. Wear loose, warm clothing/ something that can expose your elbow comfortably.

What to Expect After YOUR IV APPOINTMENT

The following normal symptoms may occur:

  1. Increased or decreased energy

  2. Increased or decreased desire to sleep

  3. Increased or decreased desire to eat

  4. Increased thirst (Decreased thirst, if more hydration acquired)

  5. Smelly and darker yellow urine.

Uncomfortable symptoms after an IV:

Most people feel great after an IV. If the following symptoms occur, they are typically signs of detoxification. Especially in individuals who received glutathione, the super antioxidant. Your cells dump stored waste and toxins into the blood stream to be excreted via pee, poo or sweat. Your detox organs of elimination are hyperfunctioning with the ample nutrients they have just received.

Signs and symptoms of detox are:

  1. Headache

  2. Generally unwell

  3. Diarrhoea or constipation

  4. Sinus congestion or flu-like symptoms

  5. Body aches

To me this is a good thing, although not comfortable to go through. At the very least, it means that stored toxins are being released and cells are now cleaner. There are a few things that can be done to decrease unwanted symptoms:

After your treatment

  • Lay off alcohol for a while to allow your liver to recover from the toxin load from your cells

  • Do not take Ibuprofen/ Tylenol/ Naproxen for any body aches or chills as this is the detox process of the glutathione IV.

  • Drinks lots of water to flush things out

  • Eat fibre supplements: psyllium/chia/flax

  • Eat dark leafy green vegetables, especially brassicacea family of vegetables that are rich in sulfur.

  • If you have diarrhoea like symptoms, do not take anti-diarrhoeal but let the body dispose of as much toxins as it needs to. This may also be a side effect of magnesium.

  • If you have constipation type symptoms, take high dose oral vitamin C and magnesium which can loosen stools.

  • Take a magnesium salt bath. The magnesium can help draw out more toxins from your skin, speeding up the process of toxin extraction.

  • If you are familiar with intermittent fasting, it’s a good thing to try to let your digestive system take a break. Alternatively, consider drinking only broth. The fat and protein in the broth should keep you satiated. If you would like to do a juice fast instead, do include lots of vegetables in it as a fruit only juice can make you feel worse (due to its effect on insulin). Add some coconut oil to it to slow down absorption of glucose.

Glutathione Antioxidant IV

Glutathione is a naturally occurring antioxidant that plays a crucial role in protecting our cells from oxidative stress and damage. Glutathione can be synthesized by our liver from consuming certain foods, particularly through the consumption of fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. However, some people may have a deficiency in glutathione due to various factors such as aging, stress, environmental toxins, and certain medical conditions.

Glutathione intravenous injections involve the administration of high doses of glutathione directly into the bloodstream, before during or after nutrient IV therapy or as a stand alone treatment, which can provide a range of benefits for your health. When administered intravenously, it bypasses the digestive system allowing for a more rapid and efficient absorption into the cells throughout the body. Once inside the cells, it works to neutralize free radicals and other harmful molecules that can cause oxidative stress and damage to cells. Below are a few of the effects of IV glutathione:

  1. Boost the immune system: Glutathione is essential for the proper immune function. It helps to strengthen your body's defences against infections and diseases by enhancing the production of white blood cells and antibodies. This is particularly helpful for those recovering from an illness or chemotherapy.

  2. Detoxify the body: Glutathione is a powerful detoxifier that helps to eliminate harmful toxins and free radicals from the body. It works by binding to toxins and neutralizing them, making them easier to eliminate through the liver and kidneys.

  3. Improve skin health: Glutathione is also known for its skin-boosting benefits. It helps to reduce the production of melanin, which can lead to a brighter, more even complexion. It also helps protect the skin from UV damage and other environmental stressors.

  4. Reduce inflammation: Chronic inflammation can contribute to a range of health problems, including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Glutathione is known to have anti-inflammatory effects, which can help to reduce inflammation in the body.

  5. Improve respiratory health: Glutathione has been shown to have benefits for respiratory health, particularly for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Glutathione helps to reduce inflammation in the airways and improve lung function.

While glutathione intravenous injections are generally safe, there may be some side effects, including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. It may also interact with certain medications, either by reducing their effectiveness or by increasing their side effects. Some examples are chemotherapy drugs, acetaminophen, NSAIDs, immunosuppressants and anti-diabetic drugs. Make sure to inform us of any medications and supplements you are on prior to receiving glutathione treatment.
