Every year the Environmental Working Group (EWG) puts out a new list of fruits and vegetables that are known to be best bought organic (Dirty Dozen) and ones that are ok non-organic (Clean Fifteen). This is a way to save some money on those expensive groceries. Save this list and happy shopping and eating. 🥒 Up until recently, the organic-farming movement had been making great headway in reversing the trend toward toxins in agriculture. But as the government weakens organic standards and subsidizes large corporations that farm thousands of acres with businesslike efficiency, it’s becoming harder for everyone to find sources of healthy food. Monocrops (only one type of crop requiring pesticides rather than a multitude of different plants together known as horticulture, to create a sustainable ecosystem with rich soil that doesn’t require pesticides) and overuse of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers and herbicides deplete our soil of nutrients and leach chemicals into our water supplies. 🌱 To learn how monocrops destroy our planet, read a quick script on Wiki that’s super informative: 👉🏽https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monocropping👈🏽 You can stay updated with EWG standards here: 👇🏽 Dirty Dozen: 👉🏽https://www.ewg.org/foodnews/dirty-dozen.php Clean Fifteen: 👉🏽https://www.ewg.org/foodnews/clean-fifteen.php 🍉🍎🍐🍇🥭🥬🥒🍅🥝🌶🌽🥑🥕🥥🍍🍓🍈🍋🍊🍉🍎🍐🍇🥭🥬🥒🍅🥝🌶🌽🥑🥕🥥 #organic #produce #health#health #wellbeing#wellbeing #grocerylist#grocerylist #detox#detox
